Trapos

At the end of 2015,
playing with the spectator’s perception,
I wanted to evoke in glass
the qualities of a different material.

To think about the materiality of glass and a piece of cloth
provokes very different images and sensations in each of us;
glass is rigid, fragile and brittle;
fabric has movement, flexibility and more resistance.
Glass is transparent and fabric is usually opaque.

The contrasts emanating from both materials appeal to me and
lead me to challenge the properties of glass;
constantly looking for its values and limitations.

The TRAPOS series projects a smooth movement,
suggesting undulations in a piece of cloth.

The glass pieces are accompanied by other elements that were
equally designed to support each work’s intention:
nail, hook and rag integrate their own composition.
