Claudia Edith Ponce de León Camacho
Born in Mexico City in 1969.

I completed my studies as a Fashion Designer at the Jannette Kleyn University, studied Graphic Design at the Intercontinental University and I obtained a diploma for Abstract Painting at the

Centro Cultural Helénico.

Early in my career I worked as a Creative Director, designing and coordinating projects for various companies in the design, pre-press and production areas. I was also a freelance designer and creative collaborator for Armo Design, amongst other projects and businesses.
I’ve worked in the art direction and wardrobe areas for cinema, music videos, commercials and theatre, collaborating with stage design and costume.
In 1995 I discovered a fascination for GLASS and have, since then, taken courses in Mexico City (UNAM), Guadalajara and Denver USA, where I’ve been learning and perfecting the techniques of fused glass, glass jewelry, boiled glass, glass blowing, enamels and moulds, amongst other methods. I’ve taken additional courses and collaborated in the creative glass workshop in the
Romero Gurman Studio.

In 2018 one of my pieces was selected to be exhibited at the ARTROOMS FAIR SEOUL 2018, and is currently exhibited at the LOA Kueyoung Korea Gallery.

At the beginning of my relationship with glass, I focused on the design and production of jewelry, however, my fascination towards this material, my passion for creativity and unending curiosity have led me to experiment with glass in other dimensions and aspire to launch larger formats inspired by life, culture and other subjects in an effort to defy the spectators’ perception,
provoke their astonishment and question:
IS THIS GLASS?
Each item is handmade; fusing heart and fire to create unique pieces.
